Description
‘Tapering Beech-fern’. This is a deciduous SE Asian fern that is entirely at home in British gardens. The fronds, which can reach 45cms in length, taper towards each end and are covered with very fine soft hairs which enhance the pale colour. There is a web joining the leaflets of the frond along both sides of the midrib. Once planted the Tapering Beech-fern will gradually spread to provide attractive ground cover, but it is not at all aggressively invasive. Suitable for shady areas. This fern spreads in the comfort of light shade and compost.
