Description
‘County Park Fire’ is increasing in popularity due to its reliable even growth, winter hardiness and resistance to pests, diseases and cold and hot conditions. Low mound forming habit with evergreen foliage which has hints of creamy-yellow and lots of red young shoots in spring.
It is a female form selected for its growth characteristics rather than its ability to berry. If a male Podocarpus is in the vicinity it will pollinate and the birds will soon remove the tasty attractive berries. A late summer trim rewards gardeners with a further flush of new and attractive coloured growth for autumn. Suitable for containers or borders.
Speed of growth from plug to finished plant is approximately one year per litre.
