Polystichum neolobatum

Description

‘Long-eared Holly-Fern’. Widespread in the Himalayas and highland SE Asia, there are many forms of this fern. The form grown here has very glossy dark-green fronds that are sharply prickly. Structurally the fronds arch out and so are quite low-lying. The ‘long ear’ is obvious as the innermost, apex-pointing pinnule on each pinna. Evergreen and very hardy
